The short version
BookMySpot.lk does not set any tracking or advertising cookies, and we don't run any analytics or tracking scripts — no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, nothing like that. The handful of things we store in your browser are all strictly necessary to make the site work: keeping you signed in and remembering your cart. There is no cookie banner on this site because there is nothing non-essential to ask your permission for — just this page, listing exactly what we store.
What we actually store
Technically, none of these are browser cookies — BookMySpot.lk doesn't set any. We use your browser's local/session storage instead, which only your browser can read and which never gets sent to us automatically with every request the way a cookie does. We list it here anyway because it's the same idea — information kept in your browser between visits — and you deserve to know about it regardless of the technical name.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| bms_token | localStorage | Keeps you signed in between visits. | Until you sign out or clear your browser data. |
| bookmyspot_cart | localStorage | Remembers what's in your store cart. | Until you clear your cart or your browser data. |
| bms_embedded_app | localStorage | Marks the page as loaded inside the BookMySpot mobile app, so it can adjust its layout. Not set for ordinary browser visits. | Until you clear your browser data. |
| whatsapp_dismissed | sessionStorage | Remembers that you closed the WhatsApp help tooltip, so it doesn't pop up again in the same visit. | Cleared automatically when you close the tab. |
Payment providers
When you pay for a booking or order, PayHere (our payment processor) opens its own checkout page in your browser to take payment — you briefly leave bookmyspot.lk to do this. Whatever PayHere stores on your device while you're there is governed by PayHere's own cookie and privacy practices, not ours. We never see your card details, and no PayHere cookie is ever set on bookmyspot.lk itself. Koko and Mintpay are listed as payment options we plan to support but aren't live yet — nothing is loaded from either of them today.
No analytics, no advertising
We don't run Google Analytics, Meta/Facebook Pixel, Hotjar, or any other analytics, advertising, or behaviour-tracking script on BookMySpot.lk. If that ever changes, we'll update this page and add a consent banner before any such script runs — not after.
Managing or clearing this data
You can clear everything listed above at any time from your browser's settings (usually under "Clear browsing data" or "Site data"). Clearing it will sign you out and empty your store cart, but won't affect your account or past bookings/orders, which are stored on our servers, not your browser.
